How to Create an ABC ID via DigiLocker Portal
An ABC ID is created through the DigiLocker portal. Here's a step-by-step guide:
- Visit DigiLocker: Go to the official DigiLocker website: digilocker.gov.in.

Sign In or Sign Up:
- Existing users: Click "Sign In" and enter your mobile number, Aadhaar number, or username along with your password. Verify with the OTP sent to your phone.
- New users: Click "Sign Up" and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new DigiLocker account.

Search for ABC Card:
- Once logged in, click on the "Search Documents" tab.
- In the search bar, type "Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Card)" or look for it under the "Education" category.
- Click on the "Academic Bank of Credits (ABC Card)" option.
- Create Your ABC Card:
- Fill in the required details:
- Name (matching your Aadhaar card)
- Date of Birth
- Gender
- Admission Year
- Identity Type (e.g., Aadhaar)
- Identity Value (your Aadhaar number)
- Institution Name (if known)
- Tick the consent box and click "Get Document" to generate your ABC ID.
- Access and Share Your ABC ID:
- Your ABC ID will be available in the "Issued Documents" tab of your DigiLocker account.
- You can share your ABC Card with educational institutions as needed.



How to Create an ABC ID Card via abc.gov.in Portal
You cannot directly create an ABC ID card on the ABC.gov.in website. However, you can create one using your DigiLocker account, which links to ABC.gov.in. Follow these steps:
- Ensure you have a DigiLocker Account: If you don't have a DigiLocker account, create one first. You can sign up on the DigiLocker website at DigiLocker.
- Visit the ABC Website: Go to the official ABC website at ABC.gov.in.
- Access Your Account: Click on the "My Account" section and select the "Student Login" option.
- Log in with DigiLocker Credentials: Use your DigiLocker account credentials to log in.
- Review the Consent Message: Carefully read the message displayed on the screen.It will explain what type of data the ABC portal will access from your DigiLocker account.
- Click "Allow" to Proceed: If you're comfortable with the data being accessed,click the "Allow" button. This grants the ABC portal permission to retrieve your information from DigiLocker to complete your ABC ID card creation process.
- Generate ABC ID: Click on the "Generate (ABC) ID" button.
- Download ABC ID Card: Once your ID is generated, you will have the option to download it as a PDF file.
